Aker BP ASA, a Norwegian oil and gas company, has got permission from Norway's offshore safety commission to conduct exploration drilling in the North Sea off Norway using one of Saipem's semi-submersible rigs.
The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) recently announced that it has granted Aker BP permission to drill exploratory wells in North Sea block 25/2, encompassing wells 25/2-U-15, 25/2-U-14, and 30/11-U-4. The drilling activities will be carried out using the Scarabeo 8 semi-submersible rig, which was hired on a three-year, $325 million contract in March 2022.
